Exploring the Legendary Annapurna Circuit: A Trekker’s Paradise
The Annapurna Circuit is a popular trekking route in the Annapurna mountain range of central Nepal. It traverses a variety of landscapes, from subtropical forests to high-altitude deserts. The trek starts in the town of Besisahar and ascends to the Thorong La Pass at 5,416 meters, one of the highest trekking passes in the world. The route passes through diverse ethnic villages, including those of Gurung and Manangi communities, offering cultural insights along with breathtaking views of the Annapurna Massif, Dhaulagiri, and Machapuchare peaks.
The trek typically takes 15 to 20 days to complete, depending on the pace. Due to its varying altitudes, trekkers can experience diverse climates, and it remains one of the most visited trekking circuits globally, attracting adventure enthusiasts and nature lovers alike.

Austrian climber Barbara Zangerl has made history as the first person to flash ‘Freerider’ (VI 5.13a) on El Capitan in Yosemite, USA. This flawless ascent of the iconic 1000-meter big wall, originally climbed free in 1998 by Alexander and Thomas Huber, marks a new milestone in climbing. Zangerl’s achievement builds on her impressive Yosemite track record, including routes like El Niño, Zodiac, and The Nose. Her partner Jacopo Larcher narrowly missed the flash, falling once on the boulder crux. Zangerl’s climb follows notable efforts by climbers like Leo Houlding and Pete Whittaker, elevating the bar for what is possible on El Capitan.

Simone Moro, born on October 27, 1967, in Bergamo, Italy, is a legendary alpinist celebrated for his groundbreaking winter ascents and high-altitude rescues.
