Half Dome: Yosemite’s Iconic Wonder
Half Dome is one of the most famous natural landmarks in Yosemite National Park, California. Rising more than 8,800 feet above sea level, this massive granite formation is instantly recognizable for its unique shape; one side is a sheer vertical cliff, while the other sides are smooth and rounded.
Formed millions of years ago, Half Dome began as molten rock deep beneath the Earth’s surface. Over time, uplift, erosion, and glacial activity exposed the granite and sculpted its distinctive appearance. Scientists believe weathering and glaciers played a major role in creating its dramatic cliff face.
Today, Half Dome attracts thousands of visitors and hikers each year. The challenging hike to its summit, which includes a famous cable-assisted climb, offers breathtaking views of Yosemite Valley and the surrounding Sierra Nevada mountains.
More than just a geological marvel, Half Dome stands as a symbol of adventure, natural beauty, and the enduring power of nature.

Everest Guide Survives Six Days Against All Odds
Sherpa revealed that he survived by chewing ice for water and eating a few chocolates he found in his pocket. After becoming unable to walk due to oxygen deprivation, he slowly made his way down the mountain before falling into a crevasse, where he remained trapped for more than two days.
A stroke of luck came when an avalanche filled part of the crevasse with snow, allowing him to climb out. Using nearby ropes, he continued his descent despite harsh weather and exhaustion.
He was eventually rescued and airlifted to a hospital in Kathmandu, where he is being treated for dehydration, frostbite, and a fractured bone. Climbers and family members have described his survival as nothing short of a miracle, with many calling it one of Everest’s most remarkable self-rescues.

Mingma Sherpa: A Mountaineering Trailbla
Born in Nepal's Makalu region, Mingma Sherpa has earned a place among the world's most accomplished mountaineers. In 2011, he became the first Nepali and the first South Asian climber to summit all 14 of the world's peaks above 8,000 meters. Remarkably, he achieved this feat by successfully climbing each mountain on his first attempt, setting a world record.
Alongside his brother Chhang Dawa Sherpa, Mingma also became part of the first sibling team to complete all 14 eight-thousanders. Their achievements continued in 2024 when they completed the Seven Summits, the highest peak on each continent, becoming the first siblings to accomplish this milestone.

Croatian Mountaineering Association: 150 Years of Adventure and Exploratio
The Croatian Mountaineering Association (CMA) is one of Europe’s oldest mountaineering organizations, tracing its roots to 1874 when the Croatian Mountain Club was founded in Zagreb.
