125+ Years of Excellence in Ropes and Safety Gear
The Namah Journey: Rooted in Heritage, Driven by Purpose
Birth of a legacy 2
In 1898, Jawaharlal laid the foundation of a family-owned textile business, starting as a modest trader in ropes and webbing for agricultural and industrial activities. This humble beginning marked the start of a remarkable journey. In the words of Jawaharlal, “Every thread we weave is a step towards building a better future.”
Evolution and Expansion
From trading twisted cotton and jute cord, JP group gradually expanded its horizons, becoming the oldest and leading manufacturer of multifilament yarns, a prominent supplier to defense and ordnance factories, with a sharp focus on quality control. In the early days, these products found their way to pre-war British and German Expeditions climbing in the Himalaya.
Commitment to Innovation and Sustainability
Driven by a relentless focus on quality and innovation, JP Group set up world-class high-tech production facilities equipped with extrusion lines, looms, braiding, and stitching machines. The emphasis on sustainable practices includes early use of solar power, water conservation, and water harvesting, which reflects on the company’s dedication to reducing its carbon footprint.
The Launch of Namah
Recognising the immense potential of climbing and safety products, JP Group launched the brand Namah in 2022. The overwhelming response led to the establishment of a new state-of-the-art production facility in Delhi National Capital Region dedicated to the manufacturing of a wide variety of climbing ropes, harnesses, and other PPE.
Safety Without Compromise
Namah’s commitment to climber safety through gear designed for the most demanding conditions ensures that climbers can rely on their equipment even in the harshest environments. The brand focuses on producing high-quality, cost-effective products, ensuring global access to safe and dependable climbing gear.
Corporate Social Responsibility
Recognizing its broader responsibilities, the JP Group has established institutions to educate the underprivileged, provide free medical care, and support employees and their families. These efforts contribute to the upliftment of society, making a small yet meaningful impact.
Rapid Growth and Reputation
Though a new entrant, Namah has quickly built a solid reputation, backed by the JP Group’s legacy and vertically integrated manufacturing structure. This remarkable journey of over 125 years stands as a testament to the group’s unwavering commitment to excellence and innovation.

Storyline
The Story Behind Our Symbol
Across cultures, reverence has long been expressed through the act of bowing. The Greek Proskýnēsis, Latin Reverentia, Himalayan Chak Tsal, and Sanskrit Praṇāma share a common meaning: an expression of respect, humility, and homage.
At Namah, this philosophy begins with the mountains. It reflects an understanding of nature's power, the responsibility inherent in every ascent, and the trust that connects the climber, the rope, and the rock.
The Namah logo embodies this shared reverence. It represents our respect for the vertical world and our commitment to the people who navigate it.
A respect that guides every ascent.
